Further funding opportunities

In addition to project funding provided by the AStA, there are several other opportunities at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) to receive financial support for student initiatives.

Student Councils (FSR)

Individual student councils (Fachschaftsräte) offer their own funding for projects initiated by students within their respective departments. It is worthwhile to contact your specific student council directly to find out whether funding is available and to what extent.
You can find an overview of all student councils and their contact information here:

Student Council Conference (FSRK)

The Student Council Conference (Fachschaftsrätekonferenz, or FSRK) primarily supports interdisciplinary projects involving students from multiple degree programs, as well as initiatives that clearly benefit students from different academic fields. Cross-faculty workshops and independent teaching formats can also be funded.
Furthermore, projects by students not represented by any specific student council may be eligible for support if they provide a tangible benefit to the respective department. In exceptional cases, individual student councils whose own budgets are already exhausted may apply for additional funding—particularly during the November meeting.
The maximum funding amount is €500 per project. While the application form is similar to the AStA’s, it differs in some important details.

Interflugs

Interflugs is an independent, student-run initiative at the UdK. It primarily funds emancipatory and interdisciplinary projects designed by communities for communities. A key requirement is that formats be open to both students and non-students.

Commission for Artistic and Academic Projects (KKWV)

In addition, the Commission for Artistic and Academic Projects (KKWV) offers funding for larger interdisciplinary projects that go beyond traditional subject-specific work as well as regular teaching, study, and examination requirements. Grants of up to €2,000 can be awarded, though the application and selection process is correspondingly more complex.
