Job Announcements

Student Parliament elects the members of AStA. Applications for the departments are to be sent to the chair of StuPa. The requested application documents  are a CV and a motivation letter. Both shouldn’t be more than 2 pages DIN A4 together and are to be sent in PDF format.
Applications can be handed in just until the time of the StuPa meeting at which the election will take place. A personal presentation of the candidates at that meeting is nessesary.

For your work in the AStA, you will receive a reasonable allowance for about 40 hours per month. Please send your application (letter of motivation and curriculum vitae as PDF, max 2 DIN A4 pages) to stupa@asta-udk-berlin.de before 19 January 2019 at the latest.

You apply personally to the StuPa meeting on January 23, 2019 at 6 pmin the Medienhaus, Room 5 (Grunewaldstr 2-5, 10823 Berlin). The election takes place directly at the meeting.

Department of Student Employee

Tasks
• Representation and advisory service for students employees in UdK Berlin
• Issuance of work certificates in request of student employees
• Conduct mediation between student employees and their department of employment
• Convening of a staff meeting for student employees per semester
• Evaluation of statistics on the number and hours of all student employees employed per semester, as well as their gender and nationality
• Discussion of the implementation of the contract or individual cases with the department per semester

Requirements
• Fluent German and very good knowledge of English
• Sense for diplomacy and business-fluent appearance
• Compulsory participation in the weekly AStA sessions during the lecture period (during the lecture-free period every 2 weeks),
• Compulsory participation in the monthly StuPa meetings and the bodies of the UdK as
• Representation of AStA and the student body externally and internally

Department of Social Affairs

Tasks
• Student advice on social issues and financing options (eg BAföG, scholarships, housing allowances, etc.)
• Processing of submitted social and project applications
• Participation in the weekly AStA sessions during the lecture period (during the lecture-free period every 2 weeks), the monthly StuPa sessions and the UdK committees
• Representation of AStA and the student body externally and internally


Requirements
• Understanding social distress and being helpful
• very good knowledge of German and ideally English
 

Department of Intercultural Affairs and Anti-Discrimination

• Representation of interests for all students affected by discrimination
• Advice, placement and cooperation with all relevant bodies
• Creation of information material and events
• Participation in weekly AStA sessions, monthly StuPa sessions and UdK committees, as well as current university policy topics
• Representation of AStA and the student body externally and internally
• Facilitate access to participation in higher education policy structures for students
• Reduction of language and structural barriers
• Assistance with visa questions

Requirements
• Knowledge of discrimination structures and their intersectional context in the areas of: international students, refugees, migration, gender, LGBTQIA +,
Forms of disability, socioeconomic background or environment etc.
• Communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Multilingualism is an advantage
